Star Wars: The Clone Wars “The Lost Missions” On Blu-ray, DVD (Update: Confirmation of Bonus Content)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars "The Lost Missions" Blu-rayIt has yet to be confirmed by StarWars.com, but Amazon.com and a number of home media industry sites are reporting that Star Wars: The Clone Wars “The Lost Missions” will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on November 11, 2014.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars was cancelled abruptly by Disney after five successful seasons. Because of the sudden cancellation, there were a number of episodes in the pipeline that were either finished, or close enough to being finished, that they required little effort to complete. These episodes were released exclusively on Netflix earlier this year as Season 6 and dubbed “The Lost Missions.” These 13 episodes are now going to be available to own on Blu-ray and DVD.

Synopsis: In these eagerly anticipated episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, some of the deepest mysteries of the conflict between the light and the dark sides of the Force are revealed. An intrepid clone trooper discovers a shocking secret, Anakin Skywalker’s closest relationship is tested to its limits, and what Master Yoda discovers while investigating the disappearance of a Jedi could forever change the balance of power in the galaxy.

Sources tell me that the bonus features will include:

  • 4 story reels (Blu-ray only).
  • 16 minute documentary

It is likely that the 4 bonus story reels are the Crystal Crisis On Utapau episodes that were released on StarWars.com as part of The Clone Wars Legacy feature.

I anticipate an announcement with more details and, perhaps, a trailer to appear on StarWars.com in the near future.

Update 10/27/2014:

Jason Ward from MakingStarWars.net received a review copy of The Clone Wars Season 6 Blu-ray and posted this screenshot of the menu which confirms that the 4 story reels are indeed the Crystal Crisis On Utapau arc:
