George Lucas Story Treatment For Sequels Scrapped By Disney

Bob Iger George LucasAccording to an article on Cinemablend, the story treatments for Star Wars Episodes 7, 8 and 9 that Disney purchased from George Lucas during its acquisition of Lucasfilm were scrapped in favor of their own story ideas.

In the article, George Lucas had the following to say:

The ones that I sold to Disney, they came up to the decision that they didn’t really want to do those. So they made up their own. So it’s not the ones that I originally wrote [on screen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens]

It would be interesting to one day see the actual George Lucas story treatments for the Star Wars sequel trilogy. Perhaps Marvel could turn it into a comic book series similar to the one that Dark Horse published called The Star Wars.
